NY) This patchwork of a barn caught my eye.
I wish I had spent more time photographing it because there were so many more
possibilities. But we were leaving the area and that just wasn't to
be.
Posted at 12:18 AM | Thu - December 30, 2004Tracks(Bayville, NY — on the way to
the school bus stop) First picture of a
very productive day.
This is being posted late because my database crashed and it has taken me many hours to reconstruct it. Posted at 02:04 PM | Mon - December 20, 2004Mon - November 29, 2004Thu - November 25, 2004Tue - November 23, 2004Part of an Old Turbine(NYC —
waterfront) Found at the end of a pier with
other discarded 'junk'.
Posted at 01:09 PM | Sun - November 21, 2004Ship, Door and Ladder(Long Island Sound)
Taken on the Orient Point to New London
Ferry.
Posted at 01:07 PM | Thu - November 18, 2004Sat - November 13, 2004White Stairs(Glen Cove,
NY) When I spotted this scene I stopped my
car and pulled off the road. Then I set up my camera on a tripod in front of the
oil/gas tank. Within a few minutes, three police cars were all around me. When I
showed them that my camera and telephoto lens were what they appeared to be,
they left. Welcome to the new age.
Posted at 12:52 PM | Thu - November 11, 2004Lighthouse Window(Montauk,
NY) It's amazing that the depth of the
window is really the thickness of the walls
Posted at 12:48 PM | Wed - November 3, 2004Phragmites in the Woods(Glen Cove,
NY) These common wetland reeds are taking
over the natural coastline vegetation. But they're nice to look at when they are
back-lit.
Posted at 12:06 PM | Sat - October 30, 2004Rusty Grating(NYC —
waterfront) Interesting design elements can
be found almost anywhere, even a street grating.
Posted at 12:36 PM | Tue - October 26, 2004Old Chains(NYC —
waterfront) Pile of rusty old anchor chains
sitting on a pier.
Posted at 12:32 PM | Sun - October 24, 2004Curved Handrail(NYC —
waterfront) Went to Photo Expo on Friday. A
large group of photographers set out on a walk and shoot along the waterfront.
It was pretty good. This image is the first of the series to be uploaded. It's a
small section of an old caboose that we came across on a pier near the Chealsea
Piers.
![]() Posted at 11:24 AM | Sun - October 17, 2004Steamy Windows(Montauk,
NY) While visiting the Montauk Lighthouse,
we went up to the light room where I found this scene. I don't know what caused
the water to condense on the glass. Maybe it was all the people in the
tower.
Posted at 12:09 PM | Fri - October 8, 2004Shu Swamp(Mill Neck,
NY) The beginning of the fall show of
colors. I loved this picture so much that I framed it the same day that I
printed it--I rarely frame pictures. I put it up in the front hall. The small
image on this page just doesn't show the 'brushstrokes' and texture of the
enlarged print.
